Hi, I'm new here, and I need a new pair of headphones, so I came here!

I listen mostly to metal, and some rock and techno. I am in high school, so that means study hall. Also, I really dislike earphones. So basicly, I need closed headphones, that don't cost more than $60 on ebay. I've read the other headphone recomendation posts, but they didn't help much. What do you recomend Head-fi?

That describes Grados perfectly.
SR-60s will be around that range, and SR-80 is a big improvement for just under 100 bucks

by the way, did I mention that I will mostly be using them on my iPod touch.

But both of the grados are open, and I need closed, mostly to make sure I can turn them up loud while no one else in study hall can hear them. Comfort is a tiny bit important too.

On second thought the Equation RP-15mc's should be perfect for you. They go for around $50. They'll even fold up well in your bookbag.

I recommend you run from this forum very quickly. I was in the same spot 1 month ago (~$100)... then stretched my budget to $200 for SR225s. When I had to return them due to shipping damage my budget stretched again to $300 for K701s. This place is very, very bad for you

OK, so I think I'm gonna go with the Senn HD280's. Is there anything I should know about them, such as any recommended mods, should I get a headphone amp for use with my ipod touch, if so what kind? Things like that. Also, I'm probably gonna get the pros, but should I spend the extra money and get the Silvers?

So I've recently heard that with the Senn HD280's that I may be disappointed with the bass resp with Metal/Techno. I've also been recommended the beyerdynamic DT 231's. Ideas?

Bump
