I'm kind of afriad to buy expensive IEMs

I believe most good IEMs come with some sort of carry-case...unlike 6$ earbuds. Just remember to not be lazy...don't stuff them in your pocket or wrap them around your player. The cable on the ER4P I had was really thin and I was worried about it, but if stored properly, they're pretty durable IMO.

Agreed with these posts that Shure has a 2 year warranty. If you don't want to deal with that, the Denon C551s have a pretty thick, durable cable IMO. They have a decent amount of punch in the low end, but I found to be a little too bight bright for my taste. You might like them though, the reviews are not bad, and I think they go for $40-50 now. Ask around. The cable on that is extremely thick and durable.
