I replied the same to another thread, but perhaps it wasn't noticed so I'm making another thread!

I have the Grado SR60's and they are beautiful. However, I've noticed more than ever (perhaps after burn in) that low frequencies result in a BZZZ on the left (and sometimes right) ear.

I've been listening to a lot of Nina Simone albums, and they've got piano backing her and the low notes from the piano make a very annoying BZZZZZ -- it completely ruined Nina for me!

DOES ANYONE HAVE A SOLUTION!!!???

@ccontreras:

I see you have the SR60's as well -- has anything like this happened to you?

I just cleaned it up, It's noticably LESS -- however it's still there. Although, if loose hair could cause this -- could it be that grey mesh? When I took off the pads right on the headphone, that grey cover, had a loose thread... could it be causing it?

It is very common for a hair to get into a Grado and cause a rattle, so common that it has been named "Grattle".

Search on it here and you will find how to fix it.
It is more likely to be from a hair than from the cloth screen over the driver.
