Comparing my A900s to the HD-600s from my iHP through my Super Mini, they both sound very, very good, with the differences only being what I commonly read as the described difference between the phones themselves. The volume remains consistent (or very close) when I switch between them, too.

Is this surprising considering one (A900s) are considered fairly 'easy' to drive, while the HD-600s are generally listed as 'a bitch to drive'??

No, SuperMini has ample amount of power to drive headphones to an acceptible degree, even the HD600. Of course, if you went with an even better amp, the HD600 should improve even more.

SuperMini is good at powering inefficient headphones, but doesn't do much to create a better sound signature... For a portable amp that size though, you can't really ask for much more.
