Just wanted to share a few pics of a recable I just finished. I sold my iGrados a few months ago to Cappellano, another Italian headfier, and a couple of weeks ago he sent me a PM asking if I still had the PK3s fo sale as he stepped on the cable and broke the iGrados. I offered to recable them instead at cost, so here are a few pics of the job.
The bare materials: Tasker TSK1044, cotton boot laces, the iGrados.
The braided cable ready to be sleeved (never again, I got blisters removing all the insulation).
The finished job.
I gave them a quick listen as I was curious to know if I still liked them after a few months of tinkering with ortho phones. They have really tight bass (I might be mistaken but it seems to be much better than with the standard cable), and nice details for portable phones in this price range. Nice phones, but I think I'll stick with orthodynamics in the future.
