I wanna re-cable my iGrados...the cable leading into the driver housing is being pulled out, and i don't wanna risk anymore damage to the cable. Also, I kinda really wanna "personalize" the iGrados, make them more unique to me.

I've been researching various things and i think I've come up with a decent parts list:
Y-splitter
Neutrik jack plug
Canare Starquad cableEDIT: maybe one of these instead? Qables DIY silver wire
Heatshrink

firstly, what do you guys think of the cable choice? Is there something else I should look for/get?

What to do:
-First I gotta de-solder the current connections on my iGrado (note to self: must figure out which wire is the ground

)
-split the new cable so i get 1 signal path and i ground connection for each driver
-solder connections to driver
-solder connections to jack plug
-heatshrink wrap

is this it in a nutshell? Am i going about this all wrong?

ANY help/advice would be greatly appreciated!!

the hardest part is probably getting the iGrado housing to open.

Silver is good, not sure how much you will have to pay for the UK shipping though.
