I'm currently debating running the iMod on my 5.5G iPod, but iReally don't want to do it on my iPhone (sorry, had to say it)

So in that regard, would an unmodded iGadget still benefit from a nice metalized polypropylene or teflon capacitor coupling its output stage on the docking connector?

IIRC The point of the Cap in the Imod is to eliminate offset that may be present with the bypassing/eliminating of the original output caps. So, I cannot see the merit in adding output caps to an un-modded player.
