Hi All,
I've been playing a bit for the first time with a balanced HP connection; using Edition XS & Ananda Stealth HP's. Comparing, at first, the Zen Can single-ended against an Atom+ & Liquid Spark, the Zen Can fell flat. I then read I needed to upgrade the PSU and use Balanced connection for the best sound out of the Zen Can. I did that, and wow, now its better than the other 2 amps. The space/clarity/definition is there, but I feel that the kind of "metallic" characteristic of the Zen Can sound is still there. I was wondering if anyone with experience could suggest an amp with balanced output under $300 that would be an improvement in timbre to a warmer/smoother sound, while retaining the gained space/clarity/definition from the balanced connection.
Any suggestions?
