Tried the Oppo HA-2, sadly there were connection troubles with both players.. not sure why, managed to listen to it through a Samsung, wasn't my sound type, so that's ruled out.

Mojojojo was the spot though, I felt more bass presence through it than with the bass-boost on with the HA-2.

Still haven't heard the iDSD, but the reviews are spectacular for it.

Thanks so much RAQemUP. It's smaller than I thought, a lot smaller, I was thinking 1.5 times the size at least (I did measure but nothing beats a direct comparison). I will continue to ponder the two, haha.

Oh, this reminds me that I also had some issues when connecting HA-2, but I thought that the cable I used back then was problematic

Folks, have any of you downloaded and use the iFi USB Audio Class 2.0 Driver from the iFi website? It got flagged as viruses. I wanted to believe this is false positives but a total of 7 anti-viruses flagged this out including Symantec.
See https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/9...28b6ce4e5fa70d5d2ba7b4b30899e029002/detection

I guess there is no other choice but to upgrade my Win 10 to the Creators update as I read it contains the Audio class 2.0 driver which will be able to use bit perfect transfer from PC to Black Label. Fingers crossed this can work.

Any comment or advice most welcome.

On another note, does any of you uses iPurifier2 along with Black label? I did an audition of this combination at a retail store and it sounded even better (noticeably better) than using BL alone. I'm just waiting for a discount or some sort of sales to purchase the iPurifier2. Excited.

I'm using that driver with no issues... Maybe your internet connection or system has / had something that corrupted the file though

It got flagged as viruses.

Well, it's a false positive. We use multiple anti virus software, including Avast, Avg, Microsoft, Mcafee, TrendMicro Housecall and Kaspersky to verify our uploads.

We long discontinued our use of Symantec and Sophos. What is perhaps most telling that each anti-virus software that flags our driver as virus attributes it another virus.

So either our driver is infected with 7 different viruses, each of which is picked up only by one specific antivirus software and missed by all the market leaders (and our own scans), or it is a false a positive.

I just picked up one of these a couple of days ago. I am so happy with this purchase and I don't think it's just the new toy syndrome.

I'll share some more comments after a few more days.

Every single iDSD BL owner I met with has been thirlled with it, even after months of usage, this one gets very little new toy syndrome XD

It's still a little early to say too much but in brief, I am very impressed and it has also brought about a new problem for me.

I just posted this in the HE6 Impressions thread:

Has anyone here tried the ifi iDSD Black Label with their HE6? I will have to qualify my comments with the fact that I haven't tried my HE6 with too many dac and amp combinations but I have to say that I have not heard them sound any better than they do with this little power house. It can really run them and I only set the Power Mode to "Normal" instead of "Turbo".

If anyone has tried it, I would appreciate how it compares to other set ups.

This little masterpiece is so versatile. I use it as a portable with my ED8LE, at work with my HE6 and at home, mainly with my HD800. I also just started running it as a pre-amp with my humble Stax amp and 009. I am going to give this a go for some more time to see what I think about that.

I just can't get enough of this thing and now it has created a new problem. It has now reignited an itch to get another headphone. Not sure if it will be a 'portable' or a stay at home. I'm considering the TH900 if I go portable. If I go with a stay at home, I am all over the place. Any suggestions based on my current choice of headphones?

I've used it multiple times with my he4, and it does ok, but honestly there's a justifiably big difference running it as a dac or dac+preamp into my pioneer sx1010. I went back and fourth a few times to make sure it wasn't just preferential bias to a beloved amp, and it's not, it's a fairly decent difference in control and coherency as well as separation and detail. So I would only assume the he6 would be similar as they are both demanding hps with similar ratings. But the ifi is absolutely no slouch for it's size and feature set, as well as price to performance, out of everything I've bought the last few years, it's definitely one of my best purchases as it gets used everyday.

Does anyone have any problem getting audio on any video when using the ifi? When I play anything that is a video recording on my MacBook Air, whether it is YouTube or some video from Khan Academy or any other, I do not get audio? I know it is not the ifi because when I let my colleague try it out today, he had no problem with the audio from YouTube videos.

Is there some kind of setting that I need to adjust or set differently on my MacBook?

Thanks!

[Edit: I may have found the problem. I use Chrome browser. I get the audio when I use Safari. But is there something I can do so that it works with Chrome as well?]

We're happy that you're happy. Our device will handle literally everything there is, but TH900 seems like an idea indeed!

I borrowed my friend's TH900 to test them out (you know that crazy member that has 3 or 4 pairs of TH900) on my portable set up and music. So far I like what I hear.

We even tested the BL with the Abyss (original model - non phi). I can't say how it compared with other amps since I only tried them with the BL but they sounded fine enough to me. If it was a little cheaper, I would consider it but I would need to test them out a lot longer than the 30 minutes or so I had with them and with a range of amps to hear its real potential.
