I'm looking at the iFi Zen Air DAC, FiiO K5pro or Yulong Canary 2.

Anyone have any thoughts/experience with these they care to share please?

Following some more research I now discard the iFi.

The FiiO K5 Pro has input and gain switches and it’s amp has more power, but if you need Bluetooth, then the Topping DX3 Pro Plus is another great option with a similarly powerful amp:

Bluetooth I've got already sorted for the gym etc. I'm now looking for a bedside/sofa unit for wired use.
The Topping isn't a bad steer though as I have had good experiences with their gear before.

Done. I spent a pleasant couple of hours with Tidal from phone via wire to BTR3K and on to ATH-M70X.
Following that I went looking for a K5 Pro ESS.
Couldn't find the ESS on ebay but it was available on Amazon. Much as I hate giving Bezos money I ordered it for delivery tomorrow.
Can't wait.

Certainly.
It seems a great bit of kit that is highly regarded but for me the lure of something packaged with its own psu and the option to be used as a pre for multiple sources further down the line led to its exclusion.
If I'm being honest I'm not overly keen on the look of it either.
Again, your dac is a good one, just not ticking the boxes for my needs and wants.

Thanks a lot and it's all good! Your reasons are perfectly understandable and considering utilities you're after, our ZEN wouldn't work. Thanks again for honest feedback and I hope that K5 Pro ESS will work out for you
