iFi audio xDSD- The Official Thread

Can you use another app to confirm sampling rate? It'd be good to rule in/out iOS as well.

Hi, I've recently purchased the xDSD as well and running into same problem. I'm trying to burnin my unit by playing music at low volumes nonstop and after playing for a while, the music just stops output (while tidal app is still showing it's playing). This has happened in both MacOS tidal app and iOS tidal app playing MQA music. Thanks for your help.

Update the firmware. I too had this issue (macOS and iOS) and upon the update I have experience nothing but flawless performance.

Do you mean I can update the same version firmware with a new build or I need a new version? So for example the new firmware version with the GTO filter ?

We don't quite understand what you mean. There's only one build per firmware version. In here you'll find all firmwares we released: https://ifi-audio.com/downloads/

The version with the GTO filter is 5.30c.

Is MQA not working in the 2018 iPad Pros?
Is there anyone who had a successful experience using xDSD (firmware 5.30c), 2018 12.9" iPad Pro (iOS 12.1.4), using Tidal version 2.7.1?
No matter what cable configuration I have tried (must end in USB-C for 2018 iPad Pro) all I get is stuttering when attempting to play Tidal MQA files. All other tested formats and apps are excellent.

Kind of off topic (somewhat), but here is some food for thought (and I hope it settles the debate).

Thanks so much, very useful info and this is what I wanted to ask.

That's what we'd suggest!

So to make myself clear when we say update the firmware what exact version we mean?

5.30 or 5.30c? what version is considered the latest ? Both 5.30 versions or 5.30c only?

Many thanks again all.

I have version 5.3c but I don't still don't really see any difference in the measure/listen filter.

On a side note, does anybody else have whirling noise when the first plug into the amp? It goes away when the music starts, I just don't remember having that noise on other amps.

Are your IEMs or headphones particularly sensitive? Out of my xDSD, using my sensitive IEMs I do hear the higher pitched “whirling” noise and/or hiss. I don’t hear this out of my Hidizs DH1000. I have an iEMatch and this makes the xDSD noise go away with my sensitive gear.

Thanks, yes they're 9 0hms and very sensitive. Maybe I'll have to try the iEMatch myself. Although I don't hear it when the music starts, all I hear is a little hiss.
