Hey @iFi audio, I have a couple of questions about enhancers:

You have the iPurifier Pro, and the LAN iSilencer. I understand the capabilities of each, but what makes one a purifier, the other a silencer? Why aren't both iPurifiers, or iSilencers?

Regarding the iDefender+ and iSilencer+, does the iDefender do what the iSilencer does, except with the added feature of power injection? Why isn't the iDefender called a purifier? Or a silencer? OTOH, if it was a purifier or silencer, I would be even more confused.

PS I'm an iFi Audio fan. I own an iPurifier SPDIF, iPurifier2 USB, iDefender+, two LAN iSilencers, iPower, iPower2, iPower X and iOne.

Allow me to get a better answer for you than I could provide, my knowledge in this area is limited at best (in terms of specifics)

I have used both the LAN iSilencer and the experienced the "Optibox" which came with the NEO Stream and now have the LAN iPurifier pro. In terms of preferences, I personally prefer the IPP it just seems to give me a better overall presentation of soundstage in just about anything I listen to, This is probably why I was a big fan of the NEO stream.

In the arena of limited budgets, the LAN iSilencer is a great purchase to evaluate whether there is noise in your system affecting the quality of your streaming, if you hear a difference or perceive a difference there I would suggest at some point to give the LAN IPP a go.
