Hi I think you should select “Balance Selection” Not “Pair”
Good that I asked then --- Many thanks :smile_phones:
(Was a bit confusing to me, because when ordering "pair" 1 piece = 329, when ordering "balanced" 1 piece = 164, so have to order two:))

It honestly sounds like a different dac under the tube mode with these WE396A tubes, you won't be disappointed!!!

Although we like our GE5670 JANs (they're superb for what they are!), we consider these WEs as a noticeable upgrade.

So I got the WE tubes and managed to replace the GE. I assembled the Pro, turned it on, switched to tube mode and no sound whatsoever :triportsad: It looks as if the tubes are glowing. What can I have done wrong? Tomorrow I will try to swap to the old tubes, to check whether they still works....

By the looks of it, you did everything correct. Please install the original set and see if there's sound. If it is and with WE it's not, please let our support know about this: https://support.ifi-audio.com

I'll double-check with our team whether there are any known issues, but other users didn't report any issues upon inserting the same WE tube type you got.

I am sorry to hear that. They are working perfectly fine for me and sounding great as well. I am not sure what could be wrong.

Thanks - just did check. Couldn't wait until tomorrow. First I swapped left and right WE, still glowing, but no sound. Then I replaced them with the GEs - and it works as usual - phew. Thought I might have damaged something. Conclusion: the WEs seem to be faulty and I will have to contact TAD....

That's great to know its to do with the tubes. And its unacceptable for them to charge a hefty premium on proper matching, noise, leak, gas check but did not make sure there was actually issues with them!!!
