Have you considered our hip-dac?
yes and the micro iDSD Black Label. took the xcan instead. tiny and powerful. but it needs 2V input signal. 1V is too low. now I regret.
maybe i should sell it

You could stack your xCAN with xDSD. They were designed to go together. xDSD is more a DAC than amp, and xCAN is more an amp than DAC. This would get you two tiny boxes though, but all in all very impressive.

Very few comments on the nano ione filter - listen (minimal phase) vs measure (linear phase). Anyone care to comment?

For efficient, flat frequency, extended range speakers, I seem to prefer measure (linear phase). Less bright.

Very minimal difference when I tested, I would not bother even to change in my case as I had tube preamplifier in the signal path what's the point for better measurements...

Is not like in some of my dongles that the filter change makes a noticeable difference.

The burr brown meant to be organic and euphonic although neutral I would personally stick with the listen filter.

Thanks for your reply!

There are 3 firmware versions for the nano Ione - 5.2, 5.3, and 5.3c. The filters sound different in all 3 culminating on the 5.3c with the new GTO filter. I much prefer the Standard filter on the 5.3 firmware (native to my unit). The Listen filter on the 5.3 is brighter and harsher on certain types of music.

Because I tried all of these that's why I asked opinions.

Thanks for replying. I am not using iOne anymore because of my young son. I collected everything from my leaving room but is packed in the original box and when we move house again I will install them again.

I am the biggest fan of iOne. I really adore it. The best value for money ever.

Did the new firmware implemented LDAC as well for the Bluetooth connection?

5.30 added compatibility to MQA and reduced max playback to PCM-384kHz and DSD128/Mac, DSD256/Windows and disabled SPDIF out. None of those limitations are an issue for me.

5.30c continued with MQA support and added the 'ringless'GTO' digital filter. I find it far less musical.

I went back to 5.30 But use the button filter down (Standard).

I have 2 iFi DACs (this nano ione and a micro iDSD (DA/headphone amp). They are OK but not as musical as the Schiit DACs, namely the new Modi Multibit 2; not even close.

You realize that SPDIF out is a very rare application... it is a bridge mode. It's there as a 'free' feature with little use.
Using ione as usb ipurifier essentially. I have test it in the past. Special case but yes I want to keep it. If there is no LDAC upgrade for my case I do not want to upgrade.
