iFi audio GO pod + IEMs = brilliant wireless sound on the GO!

For those that do a lot of IEM swapping - have the connectors between the hooks and the pods loosened at all over time? I have a few IEMs I'd like to swap between but worry about the durability of the 2pin connection.

All of my IEMs are 2-pin, so I have never had to separate the hooks and the pods, I just swap the IEMs on the hooks.

I'm Very glad to hear you are getting sorted out with this issue, please keep us updated on the progress.

Also thanks for the kind words about support, I will pass it along as well sometimes not enough credit is given to what they do, and again your posting it here is appreciated!

Cheers!!
@Mr BubbaHyde @iFi audio Hello,

Excuse me for offtop, but do you know when the Support website will be restored?

It's reportedly under maintenance since last Tuesday, any communication with the technical support team is suspended by now.

It works for me now, I've updated an opened ticket of mine, just today :)

I've successfully updated to firmware v1.52 and did a factory reset from the App, afterwards. Same excellent audio quality, same superb Bluetooth connectivity range, in my environment. I had a 15 minutes WhatsApp call and the GO Pod did not shut down, so this was fixed, thank you very much iFi Audio!

What was not fixed was the Voice Recording. I've used the Voice Recorder on my Samsung S23 Ultra and after 10 minutes the GO Pod shut down. Same when I'm recording a voice clip on WhatsApp or Telegram. Hope they will look at this in a future firmware update.

Question: Anyone here who has used or is using the GO Pod with Skype, Zoom, Webex or Microsoft Teams from a Windows laptop or a MacBook Pro or a PC? Does it work? Can you have a meeting or does it auto-shutdown after 10 minutes?
Do you mind sharing how you updated and what phone? I'm using Android and followed all the instructions. When it gets to "choose file" it won't let me click on the latest firmware for some reason. My right side seems to have weaker sound and hoping it's a firmware fix? Haven't had any issues thus far, about 4 months or so since buying. Thanks.

Sure! :)

I am using a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra which is fully updated.

To install the latest firmware:
1. I go to the Download Hud ---> https://ifi-audio.com/support/download-hub/
2. I select the product: Go Pod and with IEM Bundle
3. I type my Go Pod's Serial Number
4. I download the latest Firmware on my laptop (Go Pod Bluetooth Firmware V1.52)
5. I unzip the file and follow the instructions

Then I send the Firmware to my phone and update through the GAIA App

After the successful Firmware installation, I find it's best practice to do a factory reset.

Hope this helps :)

I didn't need to install the firmware recently so I have not tried the process. What phone do you have and is your smartphone fully updated? Have you tried to uninstall and re-install the GAIA App? Are you sure the firmware is not corrupted? Retry the entire process and if it fails again, open a ticket at iFi Support.

So I just got a set of these since I got too fed up with my UTWS5's charging problems and Fiio hasnt released the successor as expected. I went with these Go Pods because they had newer chipset and more power, and just something different to try rather than buying the same product I already had that I knew was only going to last a year again.

I'm honestly not liking these Go Pods much though. They make my left ear hurt after wearing them a while whereas the UTWS5 never did, and I can definitely tell the hook doesnt quite fit right around my ears despite being thinner. That is my biggest issue, as if it isnt comfortable to wear Im not going to use a product. But my second biggest issue is that there seems to be no ambient mode/passthrough? This seems crazy in a product released this year and using a chipset that is fully capable of the feature. It never even crossed my mind that a product wouldn't have this now days. My third gripe is a minor one and more of a preference thing I guess, but I hate the capacitive fake buttons. When I am feeling for where to touch behind my ear it is much more cumbersome to use than just having a physical button like the UTWS5 and every other earhook on the market right now. I looked up the controls beforehand and new about this interface change, but didnt think it would bother me as much as it does.

Sound quality wise, these are excellent though once you go through the setup of the "personalized sound" in the bluetooth connection menu that alters the EQ of the device. Before that, they sound a bit flat when right out of the box. After tuning they are the best sounding earhooks I have used (this is my 4th product of the type). The volume is also extreme. Better than any other ear hook I have used. Way more than I would ever need, and that is a good thing. Quite a few of these types of products are way too quiet.

I really hope there is some software development on these to enable modern features, and hopefully some new ear hooks become available down the line with slightly different shapes to better fit a larger range of ears.

Thanks for your thoughts here, It's too bad they aren't comfortable for you. This has been discussed and also the possibility of making different-sized earhooks for a wider audience, but this will take time.

As for the features you mentioned keep in mind these things are being looked into, however, the basic idea of the Pods was an "apples" experience sort of put them on and go. I understand there are lots of folks looking for these features but the Pods were considered more in the vein I mentioned. An Audiophile type experience without having to use the functions of an app. This does not mean it won't happen, but at the moment these are all thoughts and suggestions, and thank you for yours!

Cheers!!

Why would an "Apple" experience entail a neglect of ambient mode? That is the only feature missing from the Pods thats making me hold back from buying it.

Ahhh okay your post makes more sense now 😂 but I hope you guys really work on the app and the ambient mode features. This is designed to essentially replace TWS with IEMs, yet TWS are made for convenience and usually comes with decent app and ambient mode. So there is no reason why Go Pods should lack those standards! Hope you guys will implement these changes soon (especially ambient mode) so I can finally purchase it.

While I can completely agree with you in one sense, I also have to take into consideration the designers, as both are valid perspectives, we shall see what shakes out from all of the suggestions!

And thanks for yours!
