So I am testing out the replacement unit that iFi sent me. Checked firmware in GAIA app, 1.39 is still the latest version. Decided to try out the Go Pod with my iPhone first. The touch controls worked flawlessly with my phone. Next connected with my Sony DAP, Android based, my primary source for listening to music. With the Sony DAP I am still having the same touch control issues I had before. Holding down either the left or right to adjust volume does not work. Double or triple taps to skip music does not work. Simply tapping the touch control once would stop music and disconnects the BT connection to the DAP. Is this a Sony/Android problem or is this a Go Pod problem…🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯. So frustrating…
Have you tried a factory reset on the GO Pod? Is your Sony DAP fully updated? Do you have any other device to test this? Since the GO Pod works fine with your iPhone, I'd say this is something to do with your DAP.

Everything is up to date. There is no need to reset the Go Pod since the replacement unit I received is brand new. I do have an old Onkyo DPX-1A DAP I can try and test with. Will report back.

Just finished testing my Go Pod with an old Onkyo DPX-1A DAP and the touch controls on the Go Pod worked like a charm. So for some unknown reasons I’m not able to use the Go Pod touch controls when connected to my Sony WM1AM2. Do any Go Pod users in this forum happen to be pairing theirs with a Sony 1AM2 or 1ZM2? Would love to get your input.

While waiting, I'd open a ticket to iFi and Sony customer service, if possible.
It's good that your GO Pod works.

I am using my GO Pod with my Samsung S23 Ultra. I am setting LDAC to 990/909kbps in the Developer Setting before starting to listen and for the next six (6) hours, at least, I am listening to music without any disconnections. There is a member, here, claiming that this, Optimized for Audio setting, does not work with Samsung because Samsung has crippled this, due to not supporting aptX Adaptive. I have never-ever faced any issue, indoors or outdoors. Always listening to LDAC 990/909kbps. For a few days, I have been returning back to the Developer Settings of my phone, to check and make sure it is still set to 990/909kbps. It is! Every time I return into the Developer Settings, I always see: Optimized for Audio Quality, set.

When it comes to my FiiO UTWS5, LDAC does not appear at all in the Bluetooth Settings. Only aptX is available on my Samsung phone.

Samsung ldac 990 need to enable in dev setting, then disable ldac by switch to sbc then switch to ldac again. it should now stutter. i also use ldac on my pc (with alternative a2dp driver), setting it to 990kps with go pod result in stutter

Really?
Why should I do that?

Here is what I do:
1) Take the GO Pod out of their case. It connects immediately to LDAC - Best Effort.
2) Go into the Developer Settings and set LDAC - Optimized for Audio Quality (990/909kbps)

That's it!

For the next 6 hours it will play without any drops or disconnections, indoors or outdoors, in my environment.

From time to to time, I return to the Developer Settings and check if LDAC 990/909kbps is still set and active. It is! It stays fixed.

That is my experience.

the issue with samsung is that the switch (ldac 990 kps) dont really work as it show. it only work when you switch to another codec then back to ldac

Is that the issue with Samsung LDAC just because you say so?...

Well, I trust my phone and what it shows me.

And, just because I am sick and tired of false claims from randoms, do not bother answering. Welcome to my Ignore list, you are the first!

Maybe, just use Bluetooth Codec Changer App, as it shows which LDAC playback mode is activated while listening sound.

Yes I have the app and I use it. I mean just by tell people to do it manually already made some people mad, now I'm not gonna tell people to purchase the app.
And yes, that's why I describe the stutter occur when enable 990 ldac on samsung phone. (I have S23 U btw)

So, I've decided to test the GO Pod with my FiiO BTA30 Pro. I bought this abandonware long time, ago. Never use it.
It works well with the GO Pod, listening to LDAC, as it can been seen in the photo (white status LED).
As long as I am in the same room, everything plays fine and the Bluetooth connection is stable. Kind of the same when I'm on the same floor, in my property.
If I will go upstairs, though, the connection can be lost, something I'm not facing with my S23 Ultra.
One inconvenience is that, when the Bluetooth cuts off, I need to power off and on again the BTA30 Pro, for both ear loops to play.
This is entirely BTA30 Pro's fault. Only Vol Up/Down and Play/Resume works, again, entirely BTA30 Pro's fault. No worries, it is an abandonware I almost never use.
I've listened to YouTube Premium and Amazon Music Unlimited, also watched some Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video.
With my 7Hz Timeless everything sounds great to me.
Good to know it, basically, works.

Edit: snooping around dev setting on S23U and I switch avrcp version to 1.6 seem to fix the issue (?) I'll report back after I test this thoroughly.

As I don't have any issue for years with my Z fold 2 and 4 at 990 Kbps with almost 100% of my actual LDAC targets (FIIO M17, BTR7, WM-NW1A, iFi Go Blu, Ifi Go Pod, Up4 (22), R3Pro Saber, Buds2 Pro, AZ80, Liberty 4, ..) I imagine there is somthing wrong somewhere else with your S23 U..

Like I said before, One UI since s21 have a bug where it doesn't really switch to ldac 990 (stay on best effort) even with dev setting. It need to change codec once and back to ldac for the new setting to kick in.
