S/PDIF was taken out due to resource limitations, it occupies one whole core of an 8-core CPU.

Ifi, would it be possible to change 5.3 to disable SPDIF during MQA, but allow during regular audio? I use SPDIF at home LOT... but I’d still like to be able to use MQA when I’m mobile.

Yupp. Observed on the nano iDSD, but since it's about the firmware, I suppose that doesn't matter. Looks like ticket numbers aren't sequential.

We constantly work on MQA and S/PDIF in 5.3, that's all we can say in the matter for now.

Not sure if this is a bug (unintended improvement) :

With v5.30, on my Moto X1 running Lollipop, my iDSD Nano LE gets detected immediately and music starts playing immediately.
With v5.2D, it used to take 5 secs to detect and then another 5 secs to start playing.
