Just got my first pair of serious headphones (Sennheiser HD595s, not amped) and tried them out on some mid-range receivers, AIWA and YAMAHA.
Then went to my Soundblaster X-Fi XtremeGamer paired with Creative I-TRIGUE L3500s. They are a set of great little desktop speakers. Well they include a Creative volume/bass control wired remote.
This wired remote is below:
If you have this remote (or any like it) and you plug your headphones into - SCRAP IT! Use it as rope or a blue nightlight... just don't use it for controlling your headphones.
The difference between plugging my new headphones directly into my X-Fi card, and plugging it into this controller is night and day. I was wondering why everything sounded washed out when I went from a standard receiver to a computer setup and that's why...
Maybe most of you know not to do this, but I didn't and learned from it.
