I have seen several tube amps capable of running as preamp.
Does anyone have experience with the life expectancies of tubes
when the tube amp is used as a Pre-Amp?

Lets say I was wondering if one can get the tube sound while keeping the maintenance part down to a minimum.

Thanks.

Especially mil spec like JAN,JHS, W WA .....are all 5-10K hour ratings. I prefer Mil spec when I can get them...without fail they last a long time.

Like anything with a built in finite life they die eventually from use.

Peete.
