I'm looking for something with balanced to warm sound (musical) and a good soundstage, that doesn't need amping, can be worn straight down and is fairly rugged. I listen to acoustic music primarily, mostly jazz (acoustic and electric) as well as classical and some electronic music.

Right now I'm thinking the TDK IE800 is the best bet, but I'm wondering if anyone has other suggestions.

I would say the TDK BA200 if you didn't mind wearing over the ear: http://www.head-fi.org/t/584123/tdk-ba200-impressions-and-appreciation-thread

If not, then try the Monster Miles Davis Trumpets. Good for jazz and classical, warm sound signature. You can find them for ~$150 from Monster themselves on eBay.

The B&O earset 3i have made me very happy.   They cost exactly $200 and have a design that allows the driver to be positiones very precisely just out of your ear cannal.   You never experience ear fatigue
