Hi,

I recently bought a second-generation Zune and I would like to know what earphones are the best for my needs.

I mostly listen to :
- Alternative Rock (Radiohead, Coldplay, Death Cab, Jack Johnson)
- Electronica (The Prodigy, Justice, David Guetta)
- Jazz (John Coltrane, Miles Davis)
- Hip-Hop (The Cool Kids, Lupe Fiasco, A Tribe called Quest)

So basically i need :
- Bass with some impact (not overpowering)
- Good soundstage
- Overall Balanced sound signature (No EQ on the Zune)

I've been considering the Westone UM2, but i'm not sure yet..

well if you are considering westone UM2 you might as well consider Shure 530

i like bass but sometimes i find the triple.fi's even too bassy for the zune 80 so far. on some stuff. otherwise i find the bass is deep, punch and has impact while maintaining detail elsehwere.

i have a boa amp on the way to see if i can cure some of that excessive bass in case its the zune.

my guess is id find the shure's too bassy for sure.

boa should come tomorrow so ill know more. if the zune really is that warm.

I recommend the Sleek SA6s, a perfect match with the Zune80's no EQ (I own a Zune80). Check the threads.

Your sig shows you have um2's and 530's. Do you not like either of those with your zune?
FWIW I really enjoy my Super FreQ's with my Zune 80. Good bass, nice full range, they don't seem to heavy in any particular range. I like the soundstage, but some find it a little forward. I would describe it as being on stage with the music, rather than 10 rows back....

That was a few weeks ago, I was considering both of them, but I never bought them. That's why i'm asking...

BTW, I don't want custom earphones.

I have heard good things about the Dennon canal phones with the Zune, but never tried them myself. I also considered the Artrio's....

My UM 2s sound excellent with the Zune 80. I also just bought a pair of Q-Jays and they also sound excellent.

So Zune + UM2 + iBasso Boa would be a good choice?
