My go-to pair of Hifiman RE-0s just died, so it looks like I'm in the market for another pair of IEMs. If I'm looking for an accurate, linear-ish sound for classical, vocal music, and metal; what's the best I could do for under $150? I've been eyeballing the Hifiman RE-400s, but the many complaints I've read about their flaky reliability, coupled with just coming off a broken pair of Hifiman IEMs, makes me hesitant to give them another go.

You might look at the Final Audio Heaven IV, or the Westone UM 10 Pro which is nice and clear sounding.

I've also read some very positive things about the RHA MA750, I think they rank pretty high on my list of considerations so far.

I would mention, the MA750 is a bassy IEM that might not be good for classical, vocal, etc. GR07 Classics would be a good option around $100 price, if you don't want to take the chance on the RE400.

I really like the way the RE-400s measure compared to any other IEM in the price range, so after some hemming and hawing I just bit the bullet and ordered a pair. I read that they recently changed the strain relief on the connector, so we'll see if that improves the build quality any. Thanks for the advice anyways.

Sounds good. Aside from the build quality I've heard nothing but good things about them, if you like things more on the neutral-warm side.
