I'm looking for recommendations for a fairly neutral IEM with excellent comfort levels for extended use on long lights (using foam tip to block out babies crying, etc).  Had considered the Etymotic ER4, but not sure that these will be comfortable, especially for long-haul use if I fall asleep on my side.  Budget is around $500.  Thanks.

It all depends on your ears. I have the ER4Ps and use Comply medium size tips. I sleep in in them all night never know they are there. But I have large ear canals I guess. When I put them in the ETYs do not extend outside my ears as I see in a lot of pictures. I know that doesn't help but only yours ears will know what works for you. Buy them on Amazon, if they don't work for you send them back.

good luck in your hunt.
