Just wondering if there is any information out here on this topic?
I know many have opened up IEMs for recabling, and some have experimented with closing off external ports, however has anyone taken things one step further and tried installing a larger volume back or increasing the internal volume to see how bass response (for example) is affected? This may involve dremelling out an existing back or more likely creating new larger volume backs or enclosures.
I presume this would have a more pronounced effect on dynamic driver units, whereas it may be harder to mess with (and easier to mess up) on BA-only items.
Appreciate any links if there are existing articles or threads also.
