I thought it might be interesting to see what people think are the IEM equivalents to full size headphones. Obviously the full size headphone will sound superior but what I'm talking about here is the general sound characteristics. I haven't heard that many IEMs, namely the E2C, E4C and UM1. I've had the HD201s, HD497, SR60s, HD595 and HD650.
I'd say that the E4Cs sound very similar to the HD595 but slightly warmer. They both have quite a smooth midrange with highs cut off early and slightly weak bass response.
From what I've read the E500s sound very similar to the HD650s. Great bass, awesome midrange and again highs that are cut off a bit early.
Appreciate any input from guys who have heard other cans.
