Basically short and sweet - need a pair of iems that sound similar to my beloved k701s. Absolute top of my budget is going to me UM2s, less is better of course. Thanks all.

I can purchase from the UE line locally which means an easy return for me if I find them unsatisfactory. For 95%+ rock, especially with female vocals, would you all recommend the EBs or the Pros? The pros look like they may stick out of the ear farther the the EB, can anyone confirm this? Thanks all.

Your not going to find any a universal that's comes anywhere near the 701's caliber. Want a IEM that's up to par? You’ll have to get customs. Customs are such a huge leap over universals that not only are they up to par; but exceed the 701's a good 3x. I put the UM2's value @ about $200 the 701's value at $500 my incredible ES-2's @ about 3500. So what I guess I'm saying is.
Save up, I'll be worth it.

Now if you were just wondering what IEM has a signature most like the 701’s?.. Still, can’t help ya, IEM’s are way to different. What I CAN say is, the 701’s outa box sound more like ETY’s. After 3000 hours burn in.. ya UM2’s.
