I've decided to have another go at making my M.A.D. Ear+ kit I've been putting off for years, and I need to replace a few of the bits that have gotten lost over time. I looked on the CPC website for a simple IEC mains socket, and they have a wide selection of mains filters, like this one. Would this be something worth having as part of a headphone amp?

I always use a Schurter module like this on all my build - absolutely a good idea.

Thanks for the reply

I looked at the data sheet for the link you posted, and it doesn't seem to be quite the same thing. Looks like that one is more of a surge protector than a filter. To be honest, I'm not exactly sure what the filters do!

I use a simple mains filter similar to what is present on Tangent's STEPs. This way you can tune the values to the particular power supply you're using, which is often harder with the monolithic modules such as what pabbi1 suggestions.
