Idea for a balanced switch box...

Very nice, I do something similar but my system goes out to three headphones at most times so I can go from one to another and compare them as well. I think last count I was using five amps, two balanced, three not. I also incorporated the ability to instantaneously switch between four types of headphone cables at a given time but that required a bit of thought. I limit that portion of my setup to one headphone though, or else it can get confusing.
