Did anyone replace the amp that came with the DX220 with the AMP8? Which do you prefer? I think the stock amp 2.5mm is more powerful, but I really want the 4.4mm connection.

Any thoughts? Any idea if Ibasso going to update the AMP8?

Amp8 has a a slightly bigger voltage swing and a different design to Amp1mkII. From what I gather it can provide maybe a bit more power (the specs are a bit confusing, I’ll admit) but mostly it’s a different sort of design, with discrete components which makes it a modders favorite. Bit more bass oomph.

But it’s certainly not less powerful than the stock DX220 amp..

You should try the amp8-EX that would be perfect match to DX220 and has 4.4mm connection too.
