Assuming equal price for all, which Is the best bang for the buck? Just recieved my Roxanne's today and want to get a good affordable dac, looking at dX 100 and 50 used and new x5

Someone please give some feed back? I have tried researching but I have found no direct comparisons. The DX100 is a couple of years old, assuming I can et the X5 for $350 or the DX100 (used) for $400, which is the better DAP?

Well I'm also trying to figure out if the dx100 is still relevant

I can say without a doubt the DX100 has a better sounding and more powerful amp than the DX50. The DX50 is a touch warmer than the DX100. The DX100 and DX50 using the line out to my project ember amp sound decently close, especially considering the price. However the DAC section is still better than the DX50.
 
UI wise the DX50 is the best with the 3 extra buttons, but the DX100 is convenient to have with a larger screen. I found the DX50 screen to be a little too sensitive. Most of the bugs have been worked out of the DX100. The biggest trouble I have with mine has to do with the media scan taking a long time on boot up. Though I have learned the little bugs pretty well by now. The DX50 really does not have those issues, but its not that bad once you get used to it. 
 
Overall I think the DX100 is still the ultimate DAP soundwise over the DX50 but the DX50 does have its clear advantages.
 
I can not compare it to the X5 as I have no experiences with it.

I'd second that, if I were in your shoes... but go quickly I reckon the first production run will sell out very shortly

I'm way ahead of you, I woke up this morning and saw it was for sell, ordered a DX90 6 hours ago!

I literally have no ideal about anything involving the DX90, other than it has the same dual saber chips as the AK240 at a fraction of the cost.

I haven't even seen a review of the DX90, but I have one coming from the first batch!

Ak240 doesn't use the same DACs.
