That, I think is an extremely great setup.  The only thing I'll change is the JH cable for my Piccolino ;-)

And I ask myself why many hate "Audiophiles"

The other thing is why would you wanna use a portable amp with this DX100 is it is so superior? I would figure it should have a comparable amp section unless it also has the same flaw the Hifiman 801 does with impedance among IEMs? In this price range that is not a good excuse... The Pico will take away from the portable factor although it is quite small itself.

Ibasso already told us that the output impedance of the DX100 will be less than 0.3ohm - VERY good news for IEM users!

Not that the DX100's amp section is not good enough (at least on paper if it is as stated that it is better than the ibasso D12), but when you change amp in this set up it is usually because you are going after a certain house sound or sq.  The Pico Slim has that clean and snappy punch that I like.  For others, they may want the RSA warmer house sound or I may just coax out of the DX100 into my Balance DB1 and SR71b/PB2 for bigger sound stage and may be for driving my LCD2 or HD800.  I can already hear the hires sound streaming through the 9018 and into the pico slim and my jh13, Hmm, how close will it get to the 009 feel?

That does make sense but if possible I'd rather not have to carry my UHA4 around. Its an excellent neutral amp with added clarity to the mid range and a slight hint of warmth.

Does it really improve sound Piccolino  cables? I heard from a lot of people that most of cables at least digital ones have absolutely no effect on sound maybe jitter but cannot change sound stage or clarity or anything important (analog has stronger argument). I’ve read a lot of reviews about Piccolino with jh products. Some being good and some being bad. What are your impressions about them? Are they worth 1350?

To me it is especially with the JH line, but let's don't go there in this thread. BTW, you have an adorable avator, especially with that stare :-)

IMHO 24/192 is overkill and can show its advantage in high end systems only. 24/96 have an audible difference over 16/44, but I bet nobody here in blind test wouldn't recognize the difference between 24/96 and 24/192. I think 32gb 10 class microsdhc is around 55$ now, much cheaper then 64gb for 150$, just stick with 32gb.

If you mean as the benefits from diminishing returns yes. 24/96 is much more widely used and the difference is minimal if any between 24/192. Especially from a portable stand point 24/192 is just overkill and a huge waste of space.

24bit/192kHz is what studios typically record at.

I read something somewhere (I rally can't remember), that 24/192 might even degrade the sound.

Something like it lowers the oversampling ratio in the DAC, yeah, the Lavry article didn't post any links, show any pictures, or go into further detail, it just said "192kHz is bad".

If a cable is crystal the jack needs to be crystal too.

You would hope they record at 24/192; Labels that record popular genres of music generally aren't that particular except for rare "indie" labels. So someone has actually said 24/192 is overkill & just a huge waste of space, huh ? With that kind of attitude it really isn't much of a surprise that so many recordings have given "mediocrity" a whole new definition (as in garbage). It was'nt a so called "professional" that made this statement was it ? (Though it wouldn't surprise me as there doesn't appear to be any shortage of "pros" in any field who are so clueless they give the real pros a bad name! (this is only my non-professional opinion of course!!!) (& I generally don't care for lawyers either! Hehehe)

Hell, why even bother recabling your headphones with silver or crystal if the voice coil of the driver is still copper?

I could make a killing off of replacing copper voice coils with silver wire...
