I had asked that same question before and they replied that depending on format, bit-rate and sample-rate, the CPU will run at between 400-800MHz.

A few uses that I have figured out for my DX100 arriving next month -
 
Reference Set up: Location - Bedside Table 
 
DX100 > silver/gold hybrid 3.5mm to RCA > Triad L3 (high gain setting) > power supplied by Firestone Audio Supplier > silver/gold hybrid cable > W4
 
Portable:
 
(1) Uber -  DX100 > AKG K3003
 
(2) Ref - DX100 > Baldur mk2 > SE535
 
(3) Ref - DX100 > pure silver 5N OCC > SE535
 
These are my immediate uses on arrival. Later on I will add some customs into the equation.

Which firestone power source are you using? I am looking to upgrade the crappy power source I currently have. (off topic I know, but I do plan on using my L3 with the DX100 as well)
