I've had an iBasso d4 mamba for a number of years and it's been sitting in my closet ever since the USB connector stopped working (the device still works when run off a 9v battery)

Years later, I just upgraded my rig and I just ordered a pair of ath m50x headphones (which should be coming in tomorrow), so I emailed iBasso to see about getting the device repaired.

She told me that the labor would be under 5 dollars, but I'd have to pay for the expedited shipping (22) and then I'd have to pay for the shipping to them as well. So I'm looking at probably right around $40 bucks to have the unit back to working condition.

That said, I know how fast technology outdates itself. Is it worth $40 to restore this device (would be primarily using it as my PC's sound card; perhaps sometimes w/ my iPod)? Or would it still cost a considerable amount to match/exceed the quality of this device?

The D4 can still hold its own even today. It is well worth the $40 to have it repaired by iBasso!
