I just got a pair of dt770's and I think I need an amp to drive em fully. So far I've just been using them with a cowon d2 and the sound is really good, only thing I've noticed is ocassionally on certain songs the highs tend to crackle very mildly. I because they are unamped? I'm using the d2 with a flat eq and no enhancements and playing flac files.

So if this can be fixed with an amp I'm looking at the iBasso d2 because it sounds like a good amp for the money and I like the usb/dac feature since the headphone jack on a macbook pro totally blows.
