Has anyone actually sourced a replacement battery for one of these?

They’re fairly new wouldn’t think you would need to yet. But you would get them from ibasso.

Hello, is the d16 usable as desktop dac amp pc connected?
yeah, it is really great, not exactly same level as my desktop - Flux Mentor + R26, but it is very, very close with normal headphones (not very hard to drive) It drives my Aryas great, without problem..

Can it drive hd800s?
No, it was not a good pairing for the 800s. I would look at the OG Hugo or Hugo 2 for the 800s.
It did not have the drive at medium volumes, pushing to high gain made it shouty.

That is mostly how I use it. Yes it's fine... I leave it plugged in all the time and power it on/off when I need it. It manages it's own battery charging just fine. I wouldn't leave it powered on all the time though.

I have read some comments that it does well with them and a post that answered you directly, that it didn't. I haven't found harder to drive headphones hard to drive and they sounded good but we all have listening volumes we like and preferences. I like the D16 and the PB5 combo a lot.

While I don't have either Hugo 2 or HD800s, on paper D16 has 2x more output power than H2. Maybe it's a pair up synergy that you didn't like or not enough coloring? I have a feeling that HD800s can probably benefit more from PB5 amp which has even more power and analog coloring.

Yes, max rated output is 2x the Hugo 2. I though it could replace the H2 at 1/2 the price.
But at normal listening volume levels for the 800s, D16 was just struggling with dynamics.
Treble region had no details, just sharp and shouty. HD700 was not usable at all.
D16 was excellent with most of the modern Harman tuned iems (i don't have many). It was not the one box solution I was hoping it to be.
Yeah it's a matter of preference and synergy. I have not seen any one mention Hugo 2 is colored/coloring though.

Doesn't sound like what I hear, at all. Dynamic, detailed, transparent and very fast transients, that are better than the Hugo and not shouty. I use the Expanse, which are not easy to drive, the Utopia and other phones. I can't stand shouty and do not get any of that.
