Hi

I recently bought a PS4 and the only option for me sound wise was

to connect my headphones into the controller, which is not very good

and has little volume.

Now I was thinking about buying a FiiO E17 amp/dac and connecting

that to my PS4 and then plugging my headphones into the E17. Would that

give my better sound and more volume? Also I plan to buy the HD650 down the road

and would the E17 be a good amp choice? If you know of any better and cheaper amp could you tell me?

Jump down to the end of this thread mate, http://www.head-fi.org/t/690473/no-bass-using-headphones-on-tv-but-perfect-bass-when-using-a-pc-sub-speakers-on-tv-or-headphones-on-laptop-smartphone

I've got the setup they're talking about (ps4 - optical cable - FiiO e17) and it works beutifully. I'd answer your other questions but there's others on here that know waay more than I do.

I use the E17 with my laptop as the onboard sound has lots of static/noise and some "Beats" processing crap that I don't want. I think it works great. I'd imangine it would work just as well w/ a PS4.
