Help me find the best balance of price/performance possible. I'm gonna rip close to 500 records.

I have a crap-ton of records and a couple Technics 1200 turntables. My desktop is a high end self-built rig with an older creative soundblaster x-fi. My laptop is a high end Dell with no audio inputs, just USB and HDMI.

What do I need to do this? Cable-wise and/or otherwise?

Thanks!

Which model Creative Sound blaster X-Fi do you have?
I'm not the expert, but an Audio Interface (USB connection), might offer a better ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) and it's software might be better for your intended use (but I'm not the expert).
