Hello,
So I have some money in my pocket burning a hole in it, and I think I want some new headphones. I'm looking for something in the $150 range.. Are AKG K171 any good? I have AKG K26 P and I just love them so I wouldn't mind going AKG again.. What else would be good?

We need more information for an answer...What do you listen to? Do you need isolation? Are you amping them? What is the source?

I'd use them with an iAudio X5, and my Computer (A MacBook). I'd rather not have to deal with an amp, but I'd look into it. I listen to rock. I don't want anything that I'd have to turn on noise cancelling, but something that blocks out some noise would be nice because I might be walking around my college campus with them time to time.

I dunno how good the 171's are, but if I were in your position, I wud give the K81's a shot, cos they sound awesome unamped, very portable, and are closed.

U wud also save like a 100 bucks, which is never a bad thing

What do you think of your K81's? Are they pretty big, I wouldn't mind having something that looks big and kickass
