Hello!
I have been saving money on the side to buy an AKG Q701 (I am an AKG fan and settled on the q701 for some time) as well as a DAC and Amplifier. I am looking for a stationary and not portable solution.
Now I had my eyes on a fiiO e7 and e9 combo because of the cost... But I just saw the Schiit Valhalla and bifrost and with my raise coming in this month I think I could swing it... Probably my limit though.
How bad are the e7 (i know its portable) and e9? There is no doubt the Schiit products are better and reading reviews of them sound great! But are there any other alternatives in the sub 350 dollar range per amp/dac that I should consider?
I know the e9 is a solid state amp while the valhalla is a tube amp, I never thought i would be able to afford a tube amp and the idea sounds very appealing.
I am a nooblet when it comes to hi-fi audio and hope to learn as time goes on reading these forums.
