Hey, Jakets

Why did a website called jakets.net just try to stick a cookie on my computer when I entered this thread?

Thats as much as the phones >> I will stick with trusty newegg.

Just checked, don't buy from here. The shipping is over $15.

Uhh, i dunno. Thats my website, but i dont see how or why it could put a cookie on your computer, unless you visit it.

Ohh, the image is being hosted from my website. I dunno how to make it not put a cookie or i would stop it lol.

Would $175 headphones sound better than $80 headphones + a $95 amp?

People say that amps compliment the headphones (not the other way around) and you're planning to spend more on the amp than the headphones. Also, some headphones don't benefit from amping all that much. I'm not sure about those Sonys but it could be something to think about if you haven't already.

HD201's with the amp, or 175$ pair of phones with no amp?

For $175 you could almost afford the shure E4c, or the UE Super fi EB. I don't know how the compare against the fullsize headphones you listed, but these two should be good enough to compare, have isolation, and are WAY more portable than the full size ones.

Shure E4c/E4:http://shure.com/earphones/eseries_e4c.asp

UE super fi EB: http://www.ultimateears.com/custom/i..._prod-980.html

Personally I think you would be better off spending $175 on headphones and getting an amp later.

[AKG K271 Studio would be a great closed headphone choice... I've been using these in my portable rig for some time and am quite happy with them]
