Hi. I usually listen to orchestral music on my ATH-AD900 and whenver the lower instruments play, e.g. cello, trombone, etc, there is a bit of a buzzing noise. It sounds like very grainy static.

My configuration right now is playing flac on VLC through Sound Blaster X-fi Go USB sound card.

Now, my old Sennheiser HD428 doesn't have the same problem.
Also, when I use onboard audio on my desktop (and also my laptop) this problem solves itself, but the sound quality overall is better on the Sound blaster, so I want to solve this problem.

I tried removing some hair from the drivers, and it doesn't solve the problem.

What should I do?

Thank you

Hi,

I'm not sure , but the problem might be the dirty 5V fed to the usb card ; if that's the problem, then an usb isolator like Teralink ADuM4160 should to the trick.  Or for even better results try feeding ur usb card from a linear power supply.

Cheers
