I really really like Lambchops 'Nixon' album - whats next?

I think it is great and I listen to it a lot - I find it really relaxing. I don't usually listen to this kind of music, so I don't know what else there is like this - but I want more!

Please make suggestions.

More Lambchop is a too easy response I suppose. Nixon is one of their lesser albums, so if you want to hear them at their best try Damaged, What Another Man Spills or How I Quit Smoking.

After this it is hard to find music that combines the various soul/indie/country elements quite so seamlessly as Lambchop. For the lounge side of things you could try Richard Hawley (ex Pulp guitarist). For that Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake vibe you could try Tindersticks or The National. The indie country elements are easier to find - Neko Case comes to mind. For the soul/indie aspects maybe Cat Power's The Greatest.

Of course you could also go back to the real sources rather than contemporaries influenced by them.... Then Lee Hazlewood awaits, among others.
