You're right, there's alot of conflict with the HD 280. I think on average more people said that it doesn't have much bass.

The AH-D1001 look pretty good. Nice price. How do they compare to other sennheiser and beyerdynamic products?
I also like Equation RP-21, I heard they have alot of Bass too.

Re: D1001 v. RP-21. There's a big thread on this, I think. Look around a bit for it. The other main competitor of the D1001s is the MAudio Q40. I've never heard any of these headphones, except the D1001s, but I will say that the D1001s sound like they're right up your alley.
