I am not looking for anything with bells and whistles(extra inputs, outputs). Simply a very good sounding DAC to run from Squeezebox 3(Duet) to ??DAC?? to Ray Samuels "Raptor" using Senn HD600 cans.
I enjoy mostly Jazz, Female Vocalists and some Classical.
I can spend up to $600 I was thinking maybe I would get more DAC for the money if I did not need all the inputs and outputs.

I am certainly open to less money for good DAC. I was not too pleased with the Benchmark I recently sold. It seemed too dry, too clinical. I was surprised when I removed it and found the sound much more involving. Upon further listening I knew no matter how much musicality there was, I had lost detail and information I knew to be there.

I deas would be appreciated.

Question is your Duet the one with the color remote? If so how well does it work? Does it sound good?

It is the black remote. I didn't know there was another. It is good out of the box and very nice "cool factor".

Still looking for ideas on Dac for streaming media.

at your price point, the Channel Islands Audio VDA.2 might be right.
