I really had no clue where to put this to be honest with yall...

I just got a new indash for my car, and while I know I shouldn't expect sweetjesus audio, I would like some help.

I listen to Black Metal, Death Metal and Industrial. I wouldn't regard myself as a huge audiophile (especially since I only own some UE .5) but quality is still very important.

My head unit has a equalizer like no other. I can adjust the lows mids highs no problem.. but then there is an option that ranges from wide2-narrow2 , I have no clue what it does (I don't have the manual either). And of course there is a db+ for all the 3 sections on the eq.

So can anyone give me some help here?

That sounds like some kind of stereo widening effect. To be honest, most of the times it's best to leave those sorts of effects alone.

Most of all though - trust your ears! Just choose the setting that you like the sound of, and be prepared to change your mind later on.

All the settings are really there to compensate for any deficiencies in the actual car speakers. They may actually be good enough to leave all the settings off!

(Unlikely.)
