This is an incredible deal on an incredible amplifier. The reviews I read ealrier were fabulous although it only has a 2-channel SACD playback capability. Sorry for post an obviously non-headphone item on this site, but I have no one else to tell.

how is it better than a regular analog amplifer?

Actually, it does. It converts an inbound PCM signal through a 1-bit, 5.6Mhz DAC. IT used to retail at $4999 last year. here is a link to a review

I think that is just a loudspeaker amp. And they don't have the matching SACD player....

Might be something nice for AKG K1000s.

that looks nice, but lacks the power needed for a good system that'll take the peaks easily (unless your room is 6*6, then go ahead---lol)

I'm sure its great.

Sharp is better than sony IMO, at least their portable MD's anyway.
