I just watched Kill Bill 1 on DVD and it's great. Tarantino is a true master craftsman who has created a masterpiece. The soundtrack is to die for and the rest of it is just as dope. It's not for those that don't like to see blood but this movie makes me want to watch more movies. I normally find movies boring, so I don't see many movies, but this one I can recommend.

Check it out:

Tarantino's New Mandarin Movie

"Cult American director Quentin Tarantino is making a new action film entirely in the Chinese Mandarin language. The film will be an homage to the 1970s low-budget 'chopsocky' kung-fu genre, which Tarantino is a long-time admirer of. He is planning two versions, one with English subtitles and another dubbed into English, deliberately badly, as a nod to the original 'chopsocky' films. He tells British movie magazine Total Film, "My next movie is gonna be another kung fu film that's gonna blow your a*ses off. The next movie will be in Mandarin. I enjoyed shooting all the Japanese stuff in Kill Bill so much that this whole film will be entirely in Mandarin. If you're not up to watching it with subtitles, I really want to do a full-on dubbed version." The film, which will begin production next year, replaces Inglorious Bastards, a Second World War epic Tarantino has in the pipeline."

If you liked this, you should watch Lady Snowblood, it's obvious tarantino's inspiration for kill bill comes from it. Uses the same style to tell the story.

I'm proud to have discovered the 5-6-7-8s on my own before the movie came out. I saw their 10" vinyl EP with an outrageous cover and the music turned out to be just as good.

I was impressed with the filmmaking, but they're not going to make my all-time list.

Maybe it's my twisted sense of humor but I didn't consider it a 'masterpiece' when I finally got to see it about 4 months ago. I thought, after the first 10 minutes, that it was hysterical. By the middle of the film I was laughing SO hard at the movie I couldn't breathe for some scenes. It's a great movie! It's so funny! A classic spoof kinda taking itself seriously.

I always put the dvd in and skip directly to the "Japanese" segment. The rest of the movie is throwaway to me.

one of my favorite quotes from kill bill:

For those regarded as warriors, when engaged in combat the vanquishing of thine enemy can be the warrior's only concern. Suppress all human emotion and compassion. Kill whoever stands in thy way, even if that be Lord God, or Buddha himself. This truth lies at the heart of the art of combat.

One awesoem movie!

Kill bill 1 > kill bill 2.

I recommend seeing kb 2 to solve the mysteries though, if u confused still.

the movie wasnt for everyone. If you liked kungfu flicks, and observed all the homage he paid, everything that is subtle, from the characters (pae mae etc) to the outfits, and music, the movie was real clever.

Everything down to the yellow jump suit she wore, with addidas was directly taken from another kung fu flick (that case bruce lee).

I thought and htink quentin tarantin is one of the most underestimated directors,
since people take it for what it seems at face value, rather then the meticulous detail he puts into everything... It's easy to say a great movie, not so easy to pick it apart, and say why it's so.

I think this movie even outclassed pulp fiction. Also his dialogue is second to none right now, as far as what's being made in films... and this goes for the wachowski brothers (guys who did matrix). THey don't hold a candle i feel ; )

Woody Allen did that already.
