I've tried that, found it bright & felt the bass was greatly reduced.
I'm trying them out with some freebie earpads (or rather swiped!) from the airplane inflight 'entertainment'. The pads are less dense than the original KSC pads. Initial impressions are good, highs & mids sound clearer & bass is still there.
