below is the cube box my e4c came in. purchased in
october 2005. from what i understand the e4 is dark
grey, the e4c is white, and the e4g is black. but in
the above photo of the black one it looks like the box
says "c" rather than "g" so maybe things have changed.

Shure prolly had problems with theft, so they had to switch the packaging to fort knox standards. I can just see little holigans going "OMG, 300 dollar ear buds that I can sneak into my knickers!!! perfect !!!"

Yeah, for example, I have the E3's, which are exactly the same as the E3c's, but grey instead of white. The packaging is identical to my E2c, in fact, it just says "E3" instead. I guess Shure just couldn't decide how they wanted to box their product, so they released them in several different packages!
