My home headphone setup will consist of the following:

Sony D-25S pcdp

Etymotic ER-4P w/ 4S adapter cable

JMT built CHA 47 optimized for use with Etys

Markertek mini to mini cable

What would be the equivalent of this setup in a main, home based, speaker rig? I was just curious because this is gonna be my setup for a while and I was wondering how much I would have to spend to get the same type of sound in speakers.

Oh, and by the way, my Dad's stereo setup consists of the following:

JVC multi disc changer

New York Audio Laboratories "Minuet in A" Hybrid Preamp

New York Audio Laboratories Moscode 300 Tube Amplifier

Audioquest F-18 speaker cables

Velodyne Sub (one of those really really big coffee table subs)

I believe the components are hooked up with monster cable (interlink 400) My Dad's not an audiophile and I get a discount on these cables where I work.

Anyone have an idea how my headphone setup would compare to this home stereo setup?
